Bay Tek Entertainment’s Prize Hub is a modular, customizable contactless prize redemption system. It provides a fun, exciting experience when redeeming prizes at family entertainment centers. After many successful years on the market, the time came to redesign and update the Prize Hub with modern hardware and software.

Bay Tek approached Zeytech to help them develop a digital product to add extra value to this new generation of the Prize Hub. The product makes configuring the machine and monitoring activity a breeze from anywhere in the world. This new solution needed to communicate frequently with the machines to track prizes and inventory. It also had to alert operators when events occur on the machine.

Key challenges included:

• Enabling near real-time two-way communication between hardware and cloud software over one-way connectivity.
• Providing secure machine registration while maintaining a simple user experience
• Designing the system to be scalable and maintain consistent performance as product usage grows
• Keeping the solution performant, but cost effective to minimize operational costs

After analyzing the strengths and shortcomings of the original system, we worked with Bay Tek to map out a plan. The solution included a web application and cloud-based resources best suited for scaling and intermittent periods of high data-transfer performance.
